Beans Coffee Shop
Oundle, Cafe

Beans (1 New Street, PE8 4EA; +44 (0)1832 270 007; www.beanscoffeestop.co.uk) is one of Oundle's leading cafés and serves a vast array of homemade cakes, biscuits, sandwiches and finely prepared Fairtrade coffee and milkshakes. Opening hours in term times: Monday to Saturday, 8.00am to 6.30pm; Sunday, 9.00am to 6.00pm. Opening hours in school holidays: Monday to Saturday, 8.00am to 6.00pm; Sunday 9.00am to 5.30pm.

The Kings Arms
Polebrook, Pub & Restaurant

A traditional pub with a warm family atmosphere, the Kings Arms (Polebrook, PE8 5LW; +44(0)1832 373 363; kingsarmspolebrook.co.uk) has been recently refurbished and is under new ownership.

The pub serves very English food and advertises that it will always offer Roasted Sirloin of Beef, Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, Vegetables of the day, and Rich Gravy every Sunday!

The Falcon Inn
Fortheringhay, Pub & Restaurant

The Falcon Inn (Fotheringhay, PE8 5HZ; +44 (0)1832 226 254; www.thefalcon-inn.co.uk) is just a short drive from Oundle in the small village of Fotheringhay. Its tap room and main bar have a quintessentially British pub feel and it serves award-winning food on its restaurant and bar menus. Its friendly and enthusiastic team create inspired recipes that focus on locally-sourced produce.

The bar is open all day. Food is served from 12.00pm to 2.00pm and 6.00pm to 9.00pm on Mondays to Saturdays; on Sundays, from 12.00pm to 3.00pm.

The Tap and Kitchen
Oundle, Restaurant & bar

Tap & Kitchen (Oundle Wharf, Station Road, PE8 4DE; +44 (0)1832 275 069; www.tapandkitchen.com) is a waterside restaurant and bar at the Oundle Wharf. It has a great outdoor seating area that is perfect for a warm spring or summer evening and serves an exciting seasonal menu.

Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, 10.00am to 11.00pm; Sunday, 10.00am to 9.00pm; Bank Holiday Mondays, 10.00am to 6.00pm. Lunch: Monday to Saturday, 12.00pm to 3.00pm; Sunday, 12.00pm to 3.00pm. Saturday all day bar menu, 12.00pm to 6.00pm. Dinner: Monday to Saturday, 6.00pm to 9.00pm; Sunday, 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

Oundle Town Farmers Market
Oundle

Oundle's farmers’ market (www.oundle.gov.uk) takes place every second Saturday of each month between 8.00am and 2.00pm. In the heart of the town’s market square, it brings together some 40 stands from the area’s leading providers of quality meats, bread, vegetables, fruits and other foods. It’s one of the highlights of our month and a must see!

Yarrow Gallery
Oundle, Art gallery

Part of Oundle School, the Yarrow Gallery (Glapthorn Road, PE8; www.oundleschool.org.uk) is a permanent exhibition space set in the school’s picturesque grounds. A beautiful oak and brick building, the gallery hosts a variety of exhibitions each year from  Oundle School pupils and local artists.

Free entry. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, 10.30am to 13.00pm and 14.30pm to 17.00pm; Sunday, 14.30pm to 17.00pm.

Stahl Theatre
Oundle, Theatre & Cinema

Set within a converted chapel, the Stahl Theatre (West Street, Oundle, PE8; www.whatsonoundle.org.uk) is one of Oundle’s highlights. Every year the theatre puts on a varied programme of plays and musicals delivered by Oundle School pupils and some of the country’s leading theatre companies. The theatre also holds regularly blockbuster film screening, talks and events making it the perfect place to while away an evening whatever your interests.

Barnwell Country Park
Park

Barnwell Country Park (Barnwell Road, Oundle, PE8 5PB; www.northamptonshireparks.co.uk) is located only a short walk from the centre of Oundle. Set across its 37 acres, visitors will find lakes, meadows and a children’s playground making it  a great place for the whole family and dogs.

Rutland Water
Oakham, Nature reserve & Leisure Park

The internationally famous nature reserve and country park located 25 miles north of Oundle, Rutland Water (Empingham, Oakham, LE15 8BT; www.rutlandwater.org.uk)  boasts a variety of leisure amenities for the public, from biking and an extensive footpath tail around the reserve, to a sailing club and a Bird watching centre.

Burghley House & Gardens
Stamford, Stately home

Located 15 miles outside of Oundle, near the historic Georgian town of Stamford, Burghley House (Stamford, PE9 3JY; www.burghley.co.uk) is one of England’s oldest Elizabethan stately homes. The house holds an extensive and varied fine art collection set within a series of beautifully opulent state rooms, a Great Hall and a a vaulted Old Kitchen. The beautiful sculpture garden, expansive gardens and parkland add to the magic of the estate, and are well worth a visit any time of year.

The House, its gardens, shops and cafes are open every year between mid March and late October (please see the website to get exact opening days). Opening times (during opening season): Monday to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 5pm, with last admission at 4.30pm.

Lyveden New Bield
Oundle, Stately home

Lyveden New Bield (Harley Way, Oundle, PE8 5AT; www.nationaltrust.org.uk) is a unique Elizabethan lodge and moated garden. A local heritage site and part of the National Trust, it is a beautiful example of Elizabethan Architecture with a beautiful garden and circular path through a beautiful meadow and woodland.
